Big DNA Ltd is developing a patented DNA vaccine development platform based upon the use of bacterial viruses.

The company, launched in May 2007, is a spin-off from the Moredun Research Institute and is based at the Roslin BioCentre, just outside of Edinburgh in Scotland, UK.

Big DNA appoints new Chief Operating Officer

BigDNA today announced that it has appointed Dr Karen Jervis as Chief Operating Officer. The purpose of this new role, one of several new appointments, is to direct the Company's vaccine development programmes and to implement the commercialisation of the portfolio.

Big DNA announces further £1.5m funding

Big DNA Ltd has announced a further successful round of funding. £1.5m has been raised from an international consortium including private and institutional investors based in Hong Kong, London and the Cayman Islands, with the Scottish Enterprise Co-investment Fund also participating.

Big DNA develops vaccine against Chlamydia in collaboration in China

BigDNA has set up a collaboration with the China Agricultural University in Beijing to develop a vaccine against the Chlamydia bacteria, which can cause infertility and miscarriage in women.
